I should have known this was a sub-standard edition when they couldn’t even be bothered to include an actual cover.

I did find one review that made more sense that said that more has been learned about Egyptian hieroglyphics since Budge’s time, and it seems now that modern linguists have different ideas about the spelling of the hieroglyphics.

Every student of Egyptian texts, whether hieroglyphic, hieratic or demotic, has found it necessary to compile in one form or another his own Egyptian dictionary. You should buy BOTH volumes 1 and 2 in order to properly use the dictionary.
