It’s a decent primer for beginners and doesn’t particularly stand out. The advice on what you can and “cannot” xompostology is pretty conservative and vanilla, which is fine for the beginner.

With more experience and reading, composters should figure out that what they can compost safely is simply a function of their knowledge and skill. If all you know is what this book tells you, then I suppose you probably shouldn’t be composting meat, dairy, cheese, or dead livestock. But if you learn more, you can compost all that stuff easily and without attracting every neighborhood varmint to your pile.
The book did contain one bit of risky advice: I’ve never used that particular unit, and while the design sounds good in theory, a majority of the customer reviews on Amazon are scathingly negative.
