Raffle for the Reefs

The raffle is over. Thanks for your participation!

So you want to support the reefs and you like great music. But you only have $10 to spare? We’ve got just the ticket. A raffle ticket! Order your tickets right now. Or, pull up a chair, press play to set the mood, and read on for more details.

Now is your chance to participate in the Coral Park Buddy program, part of Dive In To Earth Day. Coral Reef Report has teamed up with The Coral Reef Alliance and jazz musician Ottmar Liebert (nice music, isn’t it?) to support the great work being done by the rangers at Bonaire National Marine Park.

BonaireThe island of Bonaire is part of the Netherlands Antilles, located approximately 80 km off of the Venezuelan coast in the southern Caribbean. The Bonaire National Marine Park was founded in 1979 to protect and preserve the island’s marine resources, particularly the magnificent coral reefs. A small staff of rangers and volunteers deal with over 70,000 visitors each year, maintaining public moorings to protect the reefs, providing information to visitors and locals alike, and conducting research studies that monitor the impact of recreational activities.

100% of your $10 donation (US Dollars) will help fund the development of a training course for these dedicated people, which will include increasing their knowledge of the coral reef ecosystems, training in media relations, and community outreach improvement.

The best part is that each $10 donation to this worthy cause gets you a raffle ticket that could make you the winner of a very special electric guitar. Played by jazz musician Ottmar Liebert since 1983, this white stratocaster copy can be heard on "The Hours between Night + Day" and "Opium". The raffle winner will receive this fantastic guitar and a notarized letter of authenticity.
